I read a really honest post on a random guy's website in which he talks about the best way to approach him. It got me thinking why I haven't done something similar.

I'm no stranger to meeting new people on the web and/or striking up interesting conversations wherever they can be had. I'm a fan of them, in fact. The fact that the Internet is littered with social networks makes it really difficult to figure out what the best approach is. First things first, please don't contact me on Facebook. There's a reason I don't advertise it very much: it's not a platform I intended to be used for professional purposes. The quickest way to get in touch with me is via Twitter. I'm on it pretty much all the time and I get live updates on my phone when I'm not. I would love to just chat. Got a good idea and wish to bounce it off someone else? I'm game. Just introduce yourself and tell me why you're interested in what I would have to say. You could send me a message on LinkedIn, but don't add me as a contact without an introduction. That's just rude. Or email me! That's usually the best way. I check my email every second of every day minus the hours that I'm unconsciously rejuvenating to ready myself for facing a new day on the morrow.

Most importantly, if you think you've seen me somewhere/heard of me from someone, don't be shy. Come say hello. I won't think you're a creeper. Promise.
